Nothings free in life.¦ That¦s not true if you live in
America, the home and creator of social policies such as welfare. The only
problem is that these programs have been exploited for years and no one is doing
anything to reform them. Politicians won¦t touch the subject for the fear that
they might make people go out and get a job and loose votes, or that simply,
someone, somewhere will make an untrue accusation falsely interpreting them as
racist and demolishing their campaign. Welfare was instituted to help people and
due to personal greed it has been exploited vastly.
Welfare provides
millions of families with a stable income and health care. There seems to be a
formula to this equation. One person (preferably a minority) minus a job plus
children to the (x¦ power equals income and health care plus (x¦. Not to hard to
follow. Simply loose your job, collect welfare. Have children, collect more
welfare. Why am I paying for people to sit at home and not work? (Don¦t feel bad
for me; you are paying for them too.) The worst part is that we can¦t just stop
subsidizing this downward spiral. In 2003 alone we spent close to twenty three
billion dollars (22,856,629,044) according to TANF financial data.
But
why is it that people that are on welfare seem to have some sort of social
denial. Moreover I see people in welfare lines with tremendous amounts of flashy
jewelry and newer modeled luxury cars. Despite the quarter tank of gas and the
balding tires, for them it¦s all about creating a social image in their
environment. Welfare income is mostly not spent on housing and food, but drugs,
cigarettes and alcohol. Most welfare users are or at one point were drug addicts
and can simply not afford to hold a job. Why am I working and at the same time
paying for these people not to work? It seems as though we lack welfare reforms
that limit the time amounted that people are allotted to stat on welfare. If we
created reforms that would make people go out and get a legit job after a
certain recovery period, then we could lower that portion of our taxes and put
it towards some other social advancement. The point is that we need to
exterminate the social leaches that are sucking the blood from our welfare fund.
This social parasitism makes it harder for those who really do need welfare to
survive. If we could eliminate those who are able to get a job, we could give a
substantial amount of money to those who really do need welfare.
Some of
the benefits of welfare include and are not limited to Medicaid, Low cost energy
plans, newly enacted internet accessibility, a stable check, a freely open daily
schedule, free child care, school programs and lots more. So the question is:
(Why would I want to go back to work if everything that I¦m getting is free?¦
You wouldn¦t. Thus it is up to us to start cracking down on the people who are
on welfare and are taking advantage of the money we work for.
First and
foremost I am not referring to people on social security disability or people
who simply can¦t work. I am referring to people who are well bodied humans who
are fully capable of getting a job. We have places like Wal-Mart to thank for
creating such a polyglots of an environment (Sarcasm). It¦s like watching the
creature feature. First, why would you stick a senior citizen who has been
working his whole life with someone who just got off of welfare? Add a few
mentally incapable people and you have Wal-Mart¦s idea of diversity. Big brick
and water corporations are getting so concerned with their public image that
they will hire anyone just to sell their products.
A vast problem is that
children are born into a situation out of wedlock or children don¦t grow up
around two parents and that creates a financial strain on the individual parent
taking care of that child. Sex and pregnancy is not a traditional image any more
but a social topic that infests our society. Thanks to the liberal media that
poison our children, sex is a subject that proliferates on the televisions that
they see. Making them think its ok to sleep with anyone, and they get someone
pregnant, they can deny that baby and go on to the next person. You don¦t need
me to tell you that more girls are having babies earlier and earlier. Teenage
pregnancies are spreading rampantly and a girl thinks (If I get pregnant, then
that¦s ok I can have an abortion.¦ A conflict comes in when a teenage girl does
have a baby, there is not father to support them and the mother doesn¦t have a
job. The result, We have to pay for their mistakes.
Welfare was intended
to be used for a time of personal economic recovery, not to be exploited for
personal economic expenditures that compensate for luxury items. We have people
who shouldn¦t even be in the United States and we are paying for it. This is the
reason why California almost broke their bank by spending billions for illegal
immigrants. Furthermore, according to Michael Savage there are two types of
immigrants who invade our country. There are the immigrants who do come to
America to support our economy and get a job, and then there are others who come
to America and pride themselves on not speaking English. The problem is that
when these people come to America it is hard for them to find a job because of
lack of communication ability, thus an increase of unreformed welfare.
It
is the American left who diminishes the true value of welfare and its
traditional intentions. When we try to institute welfare reforms we are called
bigots. Why? The liberals in power institute these types of social programs in
return from votes. They claim that they are just helping those who are not
fortunate. Some sort of altruism that represents the greed of power that the
left must have. Not just a small number of votes, but look who these programs
adhere to. Should America have to learn other languages? No. Should non English
speaking people learn our native vernacular? Well, you decide. We need to start
reforming the welfare system so that we have more money in our pockets. In
return we can fuel our own economy instead of watering it down by throwing money
out on illegitimate people who claim that they can¦t work or find a job. Now if
you are bilingual, you will be hired over those who only speak English. Only in
America could you have such a back fire. We a diminishing jobs for Americans
because they are American, not Spanish-American, or Cuban-American or even
Haitian-American. The borders are flooding and now America is paying for it.
America is a country that helps other nations in need, however it is unable to
help it self.
