A group of young men were seen breaking concrete fence panels in front of a home in the 2500 block of Northeast 202nd Street in unincorporated Miami-Dade between 3 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 20. The victim told police a neighbor witnessed the group breaking the panels with chipping tools and their feet. The damage is valued at $1,000.

A man was charged with loitering, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools at Bally Total Fitness, 3455 NE 207th St., at 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 24. According to the report, police officers observed Mackenzie Gurrier, 21, of 1235 NW 117th St. in Miami, walking slowly between several parked cars. After spotting police, he got into a car driven by Ken P. Alcime, 20, of 1140 NW 117th St. in Miami, and Alcime sped through the parking lot, the report states. In a traffic stop, a large screwdriver commonly used in car burglaries was in view, the report states, and a checkbook and credit cards that were reported stolen in Hialeah on Aug. 23 were discovered in a search.

A woman was charged with retail theft at 10 p.m. Aug. 24 at Bloomingdale's, 19555 Biscayne Blvd. According to the report, Tiffany P. Mitchell, 22, of 3300 NE 191st St., was observed removing price tags from some items and placing them on more expensive items valued at $267.50.

A man was charged with cocaine possession, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 3 a.m. on Aug. 25. According to the report, Michael J. Dean, 31, of Davie, was pulled over for a traffic infraction. The police officer allegedly saw a yellow pill in view on the center console. Dean told police the pill was Xanax and that he did not have a prescription, the report states, and a search allegedly found a rock of cocaine and a burned pipe.

Someone stole nine lobster tails, two pounds of cooked shrimp and some tuna from Whole Foods, 21105 Biscayne Blvd., at about 6 p.m. Aug. 25. The store manager told police a man entered the store and ordered the seafood valued at $375 and then ran out without paying.

Someone stole a woman's purse from the Linx Forever stand at Aventura Mall, 19501 Biscayne Blvd., between 3 and 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 21. The owner of the stand told police that she had placed her purse, which had $150 cash and her checkbook, in a cabinet under the stand.

A man was charged with retail theft and marijuana possession at 3:47 p.m. Aug. 21 at Burdines-Macy's, 19535 Biscayne Blvd. According to the report, Jerry Adisson, 31, of 2265 NE 172nd St. in North Miami Beach, was observed placing a shirt valued at $39.50 in a bag and leaving the store. A search allegedly turned up two marijuana cigarettes, police said.

• MIAMI

A thief stole a laptop computer valued at $3,500 and a $1,200 Canon digital camera from a 2002 Toyota Camry. The victim said the theft occurred while the car was parked at 421 NW 32nd St. at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 11.

Someone stole diving equipment valued at $6,500 from a business in the 700 block of Northwest 54th Street. The theft was reported at noon Aug. 5.

A thief stole a saw from a construction site at Northwest Fourth Avenue and 62nd Street. The saw is valued at $850. The theft was reported at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 6.

• MIAMI SHORES

Someone stole two bags, a microphone, a cellphone battery and other items from a residence in the first block of Northeast 103rd Street. The victim found the living room window open and the house ransacked at about 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 21. The missing items are valued at $299.

Someone stole a lawn mower from the backyard of a residence in the first block of Northeast 107th Street sometime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 18. The man told police the lawn mower was valued at $600.

• NORTH MIAMI

Someone stole a woman's purse as she was waiting for the bus at Northeast 125th Street and 11th Court at about 8 p.m. Aug. 17. Dovenine Charles told police a man approached from behind and snatched her purse.

Police responding to a burglar alarm in the 100 block of Northeast 128th Terrace discovered a broken back window and blood spots. The incident was reported at noon Aug. 13.

A burglar broke into a house in the 12700 block of Northeast Third Avenue, taking several tools. The burglary occurred sometime between 8 a.m. Aug. 12 and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13.

• NORTH MIAMI BEACH

A woman was charged with retail theft at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 16 at Kmart, 900 N. Miami Beach Blvd. According to the report, Jacqueline D. Wilmore, 34, of 6742 NW Fourth Ave. in Miami, was observed placing $127.14 in merchandise in her purse and leaving the store.

A man and woman were charged with retail theft at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at TJ Maxx, 3809 NE 163rd St. According to the report, Ofelia Rios, 64 and Benjamin Castillo, 45, both of 2174 NE 170th St., were observed selecting merchandise valued at $165.89 and leaving the store.

Someone stole a 1999 Ford Econovan parked in front of a home in the 19000 block of Northeast 20th Avenue between 8:15 p.m. Aug. 17 and 4:51 a.m. Aug. 18. The van, valued at $10,000, had a Sunstate Mechanical logo and tools inside.

• SUNNY ISLES BEACH

Someone stole a 1995 Chevy Tracker from a parking space in front of the Vista View Apartments, 17094 Collins Ave., between 2 and 6 p.m. Aug. 22. The vehicle was valued at $2,200.

A man was charged with possession of marijuana after police responded to a complaint of loud music in his apartment at 12:30 a.m. Aug. 24. Police say Roberto Lastra, 31, of 19380 Collins Ave., handed them the butts of two marijuana cigarettes after police questioned him about a strong smell of marijuana coming from his apartment.

Someone smashed the front passenger window and pried open the steering column of a 1993 Dodge Caravan parked on the second floor of the garage at the Ocean View Apartments, 19370 Collins Ave., between 5 and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Nothing was taken from the mini-van.

• UNINCORPORATED MIAMI-DADE

Someone made a hole in the front office window of Sunshine State Telephone Co., 11098 Biscayne Blvd., between 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 19. The damage was valued at $1,800.

Someone damaged the lock and frame of the door to the Cricket House Club, 1650 NE 115th St., between 5:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. on Aug. 20. The manager told police the damage was valued at $50.

A thief stole a 1990 Toyota Camry parked in the 15700 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue between 2:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 3 p.m. Aug. 20. The car was valued at $2,500.
